We started Johanna and Erwin’s engagement session at their new home in Lake Hopatcong, NJ where we captured some lifestyle shots of them chilling out and enjoying each other’s company. It was Johanna’s suggestion to capture some of the little things that make a couple a couple, and I have to say she was spot on. It also helped that both Johanna and Erwin were willing and capable photo session participants with great chemistry.

We then ventured out to Lake Hopatcong for some more portraits. Proving to be my kind of people, Johanna and Erwin didn’t flinch when I walked them by three or four no trespassing signs along the way. We also discussed potentially climbing a fence to reach a photogenic spot, and sitting in boats that weren’t ours. The only thing I love more than photography is being a terrible influence on the moral fiber of my clients.

Happy to say we were not arrested, and after the shoot Johanna and Erwin took me out for a delicious dinner. We all agreed it was one of the nicest days of the year as the sun set behind the trees. It was then, while I ate a black bean burger and sipped a glass of Pinot Noir across from two genuine, kind and passionate people that I realized just how lucky I am to do what I do.

Guys it was a pleasure getting to know you, and I look forward to shooting your wedding! Congrats once again!
