In June I had the distinct pleasure of being invited to The Inn at Millrace Pond for an extremely candid and emotional wedding celebration by Andrea and Martyn and their family and friends. It was a hot and humid summer day and the rain held off despite imposing forecasts, which seems the be a theme of 2018. Andrea and Martyn live and work in New York and I had a wonderful time getting to know them at their central park engagement session. So the day was comfortable and their friends and family only added to the fun as they were a charming group. After an intimate ceremony at St Michael’s Church in Netcong, NJ we headed back to The Inn at Millrace for some sun drenched portraits and then a reception that I will remember for a long time. All the speeches walked that fine line of tears and laughs, definitely a talented group of people that could all seemingly command a room (tent). One of the highlights of the day was when Martyn surprised Andrea with an acoustic guitar serenade. He is not a trained musician, but he nailed it because the man loves his wife so much he learned to play this song in secret just to honor her on the big day. Talk about a romantic gesture. Martyn brought the house down, and even I was crying at the end of it, in between feeling like less of a man than I was when I started the day. As the party developed the fun and games by the couple of the day and their guests were relentless. The Inn at Millrace has a great layout for weddings, as guests spill out of the tent onto the beautiful grounds. I loved wandering around getting candids, while always checking back on Andrea and Martyn as they drifted farther and farther toward euphoria. In summary, the day was a blast, and I couldn’t be more thankful that these two gorgeous souls (inside and out) gave me the chance to document it. Congrats to Martyn and Andrea!
