FAQ
Do you know what your last name means?
Yes, I am reminded often by my Eastern European brethren that my last name translates to "small beer." I like to think looking at my photography is as pleasurable as sipping a small beer and that it was all meant to be. In reality, I am unable to live up to my namesake as I cannot consume gluten which means I may be allergic to...myself.
How would you describe your style?
A hybrid of stylish editorial photography and candid documentary photography designed to last the test of time. My tones are lush and colors are accurate to life. The most frequent words used by my clients are 'classic, candid, natural, crisp, and filmlike.' My galleries can range from still and stoic to straight up hilarious. Much of what I do is allow the events to unfold in front of me versus imposing a will onto your wedding day. I am an artistic historian of sorts.
How long have you been doing this?
I started taking photos of friends and making home movies somewhere around the 3rd or 4th grade. Since then, storytelling with cameras has played a central role in my life. I even shot my first wedding video for a family friend at 13. I went to college to study film and my background in cinema informs my photography in many ways. I have been a freelance photographer and videographer for the last 20 years with a focus on weddings since 2016.
Do you offer wedding video?
I no longer offer wedding videography, but I can send over my favorite shooters who I have worked with a bunch of times.
How do we get our photos?
The full gallery will be delivered via digital download 4-6 weeks after your wedding. On average I deliver 80-100 images per hour of coverage. For engagement sessions I deliver 50-100 images within 2-3 weeks of the session.
Do you have insurance?
Yes I have liability insurance that I can provide to your venue if they request it.
Do you take family photos?
Yes I do, it is an incredibly important part of my job and I always work off a shot list to get exactly the combinations you guys want.
How many weddings do you shoot a year?
I have shot over 400 weddings since 2016, which is incredibly prolific in terms of wedding photographers. I was able to gain a ton of experience in very little time doing this. However, in recent years I have started limiting my workload to give more focus to each client and faster turnaround times. I look to shoot less than 35 a year at this time.
We would like to talk to you, or book you, what is the next step?
Step one is to fill out the contact form and tell me about your wedding plans. I love hearing from new couples and I always appreciate their interest in my work.
Do you shoot both film and digital?
Yes, for couples interested in film photography, all you have to do is ask and I will bring one of my various film cameras to your wedding and shoot hybrid (film and digital). There would be a fee to cover processing and scanning at cost.
