Your last name is awesome, where did it come from?
It’s eastern European and means “Little Beer.” So you can go to a bar and order a Pivko in Poland. Ironically, I have a sensitivity to beer and can’t live up to my namesake.

How long have you been doing this?
I have been freelancing and even working weddings since I was a teenager in the early 2000s. But the current iteration of my wedding-centric business has been in effect since 2014.

How do we book you?
All that’s required in booking me is a signed agreement and a 25% deposit. Both of these are done electronically and I accept all major credit cards. Get in touch for more details or to setup a consultation.

What is your approach to wedding photography?
I take a hybrid approach that mixes candid/documentary photography with classic/timeless portraiture. I prefer candid moments and work really hard to be in the right place at the right time. I am overall trying to capture the mood of your wedding and tell a thorough and artistic visual story about you guys. My images will have “filmic” tones that don’t shy away from contrast, rich blacks and soft highlights. They tend to be warmer in temperature and quite crisp. There is also a thread of humor/fun in my work. My filmmaking is a mix of cinematic and verite style of cinematography, and my edit is tough to describe, layers of your wedding mixed together in a cinematic way with overlapping dialogue and music, but it’s easier to just go watch a sample vid.

What gear do you use?
Always changing and exploring on this front. I have used every major brand of camera for work. For photography, currently using Nikon Full Frame Cameras and Lenses with a sprinkle of Sigma lenses in there too. For videography, Sony Alpha cameras with a mix of lenses and support systems.

Do you take family formals?
Yes, and I have a great organized way of doing it that couples love.

Do you recommend an engagement session?
Yes. It is certainly a positive for our working relationship and you will have more time for pictures of just you two than you will on your actual wedding day. They are fun, the pictures are great to have, and we are never racing the clock. Never had a couple regret having one. If you skip it, it’s not the end of the world, but the majority of couples opt for them.

Are you insured?
Yes, I can provide your venue with a certificate if needed.

Do you travel?
Starting in 2019/2020 seasons I am looking to document weddings all over the USA and beyond. Travel fees rarely apply to weddings in the tri-state and if they do it’s very reasonable.

How many pictures do we get?
It ends up being 80 – 100 per hour, depending on the wedding. Engagements will yield 125 images on average. These results have become consistent over the years. I deliver a mix of black and white images in every gallery as well.

When do we get our pictures or video?
In 2019 I have been averaging 6 – 8 weeks for wedding galleries depending on the season and workload. Videos in 2018 have taken me 14 – 18 weeks, but since I will offering limited dates with both photo/video on the same day starting in 2019 video delivery will be in line with pictures. Engagement sessions are delivered in 2-3 weeks.
