Victoria + Joe – Fall engagement at Cheesequake Park in Matawan, NJ
Shaday & Nick
A foggy fall engagement at Sayen Gardens in Hamilton, NJ.
Sometimes in life you reschedule due to rain, and you get more rain. Hats off to Shaday and Nick for braving the rainy fall weather for this unique engagement session at the Sayen Gardens in Hamilton, NJ. Although my second rainy fall engagement of the season, only this one ended with fog rolling in at dusk for what amounted to my favorite shots of the day.
Shady and Nick were referred to me by my friend and former corporate colleague Craig (and his lovely wife). When we first met, Shaday asked me if it was true that I had Chlamydia. It was an instant reminder of how happy I was to no longer be Craig’s boss. Yet our disgust with Craig created a great common ground that all three of us could bond over. Kidding, we love you Craig. Nick explained that he was into lifting, and I quickly retorted that I shoot with heavy Zeiss lenses. I think that was the moment I sealed the deal and they decided to hop aboard the Pivko Photography train.
Sayen Gardens was a deceptively large park. We wandered around and improvised. The on and off rain provided opportunities for shots with and without an umbrella. Finally, we came across a wild field covered in fog. After shooting over 50 times in 2016 it was my first encounter with fog and it did not let me down. Shaday, Nick and I all got along wonderfully, and it really felt pretty effortless. I can’t wait for us all to get together for your big day next year (with the exception of having to see Craig). Congrats!
